Sound Design- Tina

For diegetic sound we will intend to have sounds such as: crunching of leaves, footsteps, breathing, gate screeching as it opens and closes, wind, trees being blown, maybe birds and vehicles from the surroundings. We may have these as our diegetic sound choice because these are the types of sounds you are likely to hear in a horror film. These sounds will give out clues to the audience of the genre of the film.

For non diegetic sound we will have a deep drone sound to give the horror atmosphere and build tension. We are going to make some sound tracks of sound effects that will build up the tension. Such as ghost whispers. Here is an example of a soundtrack with sound effects and melodies that I have experimented with...

I've been influenced by a couple of title sequences, they are  "Scream" ,

In scream, i really like the way the sound changes with the different image we see. for example when the doll is shown we are hearing a drone that is deep and suddenly we see a crazy woman on the floor being possessed and we get a scream sound effect to match with it. it really makes us jump and it builds the tension and atmosphere. We are looking to re create something like scream, but very different as well
